How to Motivate Yourself
We all have those moments when all we want is to stay in bed and forget about the responsibilities waiting for us, but the problem is that those responsibilities don't just disappear. Sometimes we need to find a little motivation to get us started for the day.
A key to motivate yourself is by making sure you don't burn yourself out. No one will judge you for needing a break every once in a while, and you're not essential to anyone if you're exhausted. There's been plenty of times where I overwork myself and forget that I'm human, and it's okay for me to stop.
It also doesn't help to have negative things or people impacting your life. It's difficult to remain focused when all you can think about are the negatives. You have to worry about yourself and what's causing you to be unhappy; you can't worry about other people's feelings or emotions all the time. For a long time, I struggled with doing what was best for me, but now that I've taken those steps, I'm way happier.
Quotes are another great way to keep yourself motivated. There are quotes for when you're sad, heart-broken, unmotivated, confused, anxious... really anything. Here's an example:
"Be thankful for what you are now, and keep fighting for what you want to be tomorrow." -Unknown
I know so many quotes that have changed my life and way of thinking, and it's a great way to find motivation for the day ahead. No matter what you're feeling, you can find a quote to help put things into perspective.
Lastly, make a change! If you're unhappy with something going on in your life, it's up to you to figure out what needs changing and how you can do it. For instance, if you're at work and you find yourself wishing you were somewhere else, find a way to make it fun while you're there. That could be listening to music, asking to try out something new, etc. Don't be afraid to get yourself out there. It's better to regret what you've done than regret what you haven't done.
